Add Salon Guru to your Facebook ads account

If you want to give someone (like a client, freelancer, or agency) access to run ads on your behalf using your payment method, there are a few correct ways to do it.

Here’s a full step-by-step guide covering all the best methods, so you can pick the one that suits your setup.

Recommended Method (Best Practice): Add Them via Business Manager

This is the most professional and secure way to give someone access to your ads account, and ensures they use your payment method, not theirs.

Step 1: Go to Business Settings

Visit: https://business.facebook.com/settings

Make sure you're inside the right Business Manager account.

Step 2: Add a New Person

In the left-hand menu, click “Users” > “People”

Click the blue “Add” button

Enter the person’s business email address

Choose the appropriate access level:

Employee access (default, limited)

Or toggle on Admin access for full control

Click Next

Step 3: Grant Ad Account Access

Under “Assign Assets”, choose Ad Accounts

Select your Ad Account

Grant them:

Partial access (can create/manage campaigns)

Or Full control (can manage settings, billing, etc.)

Click Invite

They’ll receive an email to accept the invite and will then be able to run ads using your account and payment method.

Alternative Method #1: Share Ad Account Access Directly (Not Through Business Manager)

If you’re not using Facebook Business Manager yet (though you should), you can still add someone via your personal Ads Manager:

Step 1: Go to Ads Manager

Visit: https://www.facebook.com/adsmanager

Step 2: Open Ad Account Settings

Click the gear icon (Settings)

Under “Ad Account Roles” or “Ad Account Setup,” click “Add People”

Step 3: Add Them by Email or Facebook Profile

Add the person by their Facebook profile (they must be a friend) or business email

Assign a role:

Ad account advertiser – create and manage ads

Ad account admin – full control

Click Confirm

This method has limitations. It’s not ideal for business accounts or working with agencies.

Alternative Method #2: Add a Partner (e.g. Agency or Freelancer Business)

If the person you're adding has their own Business Manager account, you can give access as a Partner. This is perfect for agencies or consultants.

Step 1: Get Their Business Manager ID

Ask the person you’re adding for their Business Manager ID

They can find it here: Business Settings > Business Info

Step 2: Go to Your Business Settings

https://business.facebook.com/settings

Step 3: Assign Partner Access

Go to “Partners” in the left menu

Click “Add”

Enter the Business Manager ID they gave you

Choose what assets (Ad Accounts, Pages, Pixels, etc.) you want to share

Set the permission level (e.g. Full control on Ad Account)

That’s it — the person will now have access via their own Business Manager and can run ads using your setup.

Make Sure Your Payment Method Is Set Up Properly

No matter which method you use, make sure your business’s credit/debit card is added and active:

Go to Business Settings > Payments

Add your card or PayPal

Set it as the Primary Payment Method

This ensures the right account gets charged, and avoids someone paying out-of-pocket.

What You Shouldn’t Do

  • Don’t have someone boost posts from their personal profile and pay for ads themselves.
  • Don’t run ads from someone else’s ad account — it causes billing confusion and poor reporting.
