What The Client Wanted
Sparx Beauty is a specialist skin clinic offering traditional beauty services, laser treatments and the latest aesthetic procedures. Based in Winchester, Sparx has been a Salon Guru client since September 2019, and over the years their website has played a central role in attracting new clients and supporting business growth.
Operating in an increasingly competitive local market, it became clear in autumn 2025 that the time was right to take a more proactive approach to their online presence. In consultation with salon owner Penny Kimpton, it was agreed to move Sparx onto Salon Guru's Supercharged SEO service.

What We Did

A key element of the project has also been to retarget and refine Sparx's SEO strategy - reassessing the search terms, page structure and content that will deliver the strongest results for today. Alongside this, Salon Guru now manages Sparx's Google Business Profile on an ongoing basis, keeping it accurate, active and optimised to support local visibility.

The Results - Google Rankings
Two months after the Supercharged rewrite, the rank results for Sparx made for impressive reading. Analysis carried out on Winchester based searches showed significant improvements across virtually every area of the business.
The business had 43 phrases ranking at number 1 in Google, covering a broad range of treatments from laser tattoo removal and radiofrequency facials through to ear piercing, microdermabrasion, rosacea treatment and fat reduction. In total, 91 phrases were ranked within the top 3 results and 116 within the top 5.
Among the most notable individual movements, Skin Care Specialists Winchester climbed 8 places to number 6, and Golden RF Facial rose 7 places to number 7. Skin Analysis near me jumped 6 places to number 3, while Facial Treatments Winchester, Medical Skin Care Winchester and Cryotherapy near me each improved by 5 places.
Particularly encouraging were the improvements in the challenging, high-volume terms beauty salon and beauty salons near me, which entered the rankings at number 3 having previously been absent from the top 50 entirely. Laser Facial near me also entered new at number 2, a strong result given the importance of laser treatments to the clinic.

Organic Search Traffic
With the SEO rewrite introduced gradually from January 2026, the traffic figures for the first five months of the year showed a clear and encouraging increase compared to the preceding period.
Overall visits rose by 7.8% to 9,515, while page views increased by 15.8% to 18,923. Average visit duration was up 14.7%, and the bounce rate held steady, suggesting that visitors arriving on the rewritten pages were finding relevant, engaging content.
The entry page data told a particularly positive story. Home page arrivals increased from 2,925 to 4,543, and several rewritten service pages recorded significant gains, including the waxing and massage pages. Laser hair removal page views climbed from 80 to 224, reflecting the focus placed on this as a key target service for the clinic. The price list was viewed 1,349 times, up from 469 previously, which points to a higher quality of visitors actively researching treatments and costs.
Taken together, these figures indicate that the rewritten content is not only attracting more visitors, but bringing in the right kind of traffic: people with genuine interest in what Sparx has to offer.
This is backed up by the outstanding conversion rate achieved on the Google Business Profile. This is currently showing a nearly 20% increase in the number of people clicking through from the profile, compared to last year.
